International Women’s Day 2021: Choose to Challenge

The medical bias against women where women’s health conditions are researched less and given less attention (Endometriosis, PCOS, vulvar pain, vulvar cancers, the menopause, pelvic floor health, post-childbirth complications, etc).
How women are often failed in maternity care.
The pleasure gap where heterosexual women will experience the fewest amount of orgasms and pleasure during partner sex.
How women often take on the majority of housework and childcare.
Why we are dragging a mixed-race woman through the press and treating her worse than a criminal. #istandwithMeghanMarkle
That abortion is now pretty much completely illegal in Poland.
That women of colour are statistically given less pain relief in hospitals than white women or men.
That we aren’t given any education about menopause and the huge impact on women.
That women are treated as invisible once they pass the age of 40.
That we can’t seem to broaden our definition of womanhood to understand that gender is not binary.
That it is often women who must give up their career to raise children, rather than their male partners.
That we still hold disgust about menstruation, resulting in girls and women carrying incredible shame around it.
That period poverty exists at all.
Street harassment, cat calling, revenge porn, slut shaming.
That because M.E. statistically affects more women than men, it has long been disbelieved and the patients treated as hysterical. Ohhh yes, M.E./C.F.S. is a feminist issue.
Lots of issues to think about, and we can’t solve them overnight, it’s easy to get overwhelmed or drowned in anger and frustration.
This is where I like the concepts of “Titration”, and, “Doability”.
